Sunset People–A Scary Disco Play
Oct 31–Nov 2
The TPS Black Box Theatre at the Seattle Center (map)
Tickets
Description
Autumn 1977 — the bathhouses are steamy and the hookah joints are
smoky. With just the beer light to guide them, the dive bars are
proudly anti-disco…until the vampires point to the turntable and
demand a change.
Vinyl Terror! Stained Bandages! Crushed Pearls!
Featuring an all-dancing cast of cracked poets and overemployed
bingo callers, Sunset People turns Halloween weekend into an
impossible-to-reconcile twilight of antediluvian pleasures and
plasma-drenched bead curtains.
Family Dinners! Frankenscum! Skin Cream!
It’s super funny, ultra terrifying, and radically live on stage!
Make it a part of your Halloween weekend.
Join us Oct 31 – Nov 2 at The Seattle Center's Central Stage Black
Box for:
Sunset People – A Scary Disco Play.
Spring 2025
King Beard - a play with music
April 17 - 19
The Jewelbox Theater @ The Rendezvous (map)
Description
The Kingdom of Barbasol is ruled by a cruel monarch who forbids men
to grow beards and collects the daughters of the powerful for his
private harem.
Can a harp player’s apprentice and a scrappy necklace salesperson
aid the revolution? Possibly.
Is the king’s adviser secretly a stag in human form spying for
Fairyland? Almost certainly.
Will there be choreographed fighting and dancing? Oh, without a
doubt.
Terrible puns throughout? Alas, yes.
Full Bar? We wouldn’t be there otherwise.
A No Refunds Production at the Jewelbox in The Rendezvous. Three
nights only!
Fall 2024
The Public Universal Friend
November 14, 15, 17 (2024)
The Jewelbox Theater @ The Rendezvous (map)
Description
Jodie is an aquarium punk. Her recent experiments in gender
expression have caused friction in her relationship, and she's been
sleeping in the Hall of Sharks. At night, a pair of 400-year-old
Greenland sharks tell her bedtime stories about famous queers. True
stories from history. It's an anthology with scams and dancing, and
you shouldn't miss it.
Dancing bullets! Bags of Glass! Cheap Mascots!
A visit from the angels starts a Quaker croaking. An encounter with
a lady's apron, starts a tiny servant moaning. Exposure to The Book
of Ruth gets a German exchange student quoting.
Airhorn sounds! Kangaroo Courts! Pistols at Dawn!
From the troupe who showed you everything you've ever loved and
helped you forget everything you've ever hated.
